Fatherhood & Partner Engagement
Launched in 2022, Ohio First Steps, in partnership with the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, proudly recognizes hospitals for engaging fathers and partners in the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Hospitals who have been awarded steps through the First Steps program can apply for this designation for any step they have already successfully achieved.
About the Program
This designation is to recognize hospitals who support family breastfeeding goals by engaging with fathers and partners in the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. For hospitals who have already been awarded steps through the First Steps program, they can apply for this designation for those awarded steps. Hospitals can be designated Bronze (1-3 steps), Silver (4-6 steps), Gold (7-9 steps), or Platinum (all 10 steps).
For hospitals who are interested in applying for this designation, this designation has been added as a component of the regular application process. Application links and information can be found here.
